As a kid I would spend countless hours by the window watching the birds at the feeder.
So my interest in nature and birds especially was born at an early age.
Photography just came as a natural step for me since I wanted to share my experiences with others.
I bought my first Nikon SLR when I was 13 years of age and started to take photos of anything I could, it was a trial and error experience.

When digital SLR became affordable I bought my first Nikon DSLR, a D70 and a Sigma telephoto lens to go with it. And that was when my nature photography really took off, in 2003.

Ever since I have been out in the field as often as I have been able to. After using my Nikon equipment for little over a year I found limitating features which made me look for a new alternative. Eventually I ended up biting the bullet and switching to Canon.

My current Canon equipment:

Canon 1D Mark2N
Canon 600L f4 IS
Canon 1.4 EF II teleconverter
Canon 17-40L f4
Sigma EX 150 f2.8 HSM Macro
Gitzo 1325 carbon fiber tripod
Wimberley WH200 Gimbal head Wimberley flash bracket system
Canon 580 EX II
Better Beamer flash extender

Software:

Adobe Photoshop CS3
Adobe Lightroom 1.4.1
Pixmantec Rawshooter Premium
DCIMImport

Photography for me is all about learning and trying to become better at what I do.
I also make it a priority to never let the photo become more important then the well being of my subject.

See you in the field!
/Andreas
